How do I uninstall Windows Media Player for Vista?

I much prefer using iTunes for music and Winamp for video files. and whenever I change the default settings for files so they dont use WMP, somehow the windows media player magically changes them back. the program is a nuisance, it takes to long to open the god damn thing compared to the other programs, and its totally not as user-friendly. So anyone have an easy step by step way to go about this?

And if I do uninstall it, will it effect any of the other programs on vista where i would not be able to use them because they require WMP?How do I uninstall Windows Media Player for Vista?
It's true, you can't uninstall it, but try this:

Go to Control Panel %26gt; Default Programs %26gt; Set Program Access and Computer Defaults, choose Custom and expand it. Uncheck %26quot;Enable access to this program%26quot; for Windows Media Player.

WMP is an integral part of Windows so, just like IE, if you uninstall the version you have, the previous version will automatically replace it. Windows 7 has a new version of WMP, WMP12. Vista has WMP11
