The only way i can open it on windows m players is if i save the video to my computer. Can someone tell me how i can get videoes from the internet to play on windows media player %26amp; not quicktime?
You likely have Quicktime set as the default player for all files of that type, that's why it's automatically opening that way.

You should have program files for both Windows Media Player and for Quicktime Player.

Open each of those programs and under settings make sure that you REMOVE all checkmarks off of ALL media file types. Do the same thing in each program.

When you specify file types (or allow the program to auto-specify file types) in those programs, what that means is that you are basically relinquishing control of your own ability to select a program to use, your computer insists on using the pre-determined program and won't even give you the option to use another one unless you download the file and right click on it.

By making sure that you have NO programs specified in either program (or any other media programs on your system) you are forcing the computer to ask you what program to use whenever you want to play any file of that type.

This is better too because the only programs that will show up in the list as options will be ones on your system that are capable of playing that file, so if QuickTime can play it but Windows Media can't, then you'll only get the option to use QuickTime.

Just make sure that when it opens the window to allow you to choose a program to use that you don't have the %26quot;always use this program for this file type%26quot; box checked off at the bottom.

Hope this helps. Can someone tell me how i can get videoes from the internet to play on windows media player %26amp; not quicktime?
I know what you mean as I've dealt with the same problem.

Go into you control panel, then add/remove programs. Uninstall QuickTime.

it cannot play the files in windows media player because it isnt the right format. you would either have to find codecs or play it in quicktime. you might be able to convert the file. http://www.downloadyoutubevideos.com/ might help youCan someone tell me how i can get videoes from the internet to play on windows media player %26amp; not quicktime?
I recommend you uninstall QuickTime. It REALLY sucks. If you have .mov files, try to get a free video converter to change them into .mpg, .avi, or .wmv. By the way, can also right click the file, go to properties, then select which media player you want it to play with. Change it from QuickTime to WMP.
