Actually media players are registered for each video file extension. So the simplest %26amp; easiest solution is to re-run the installation setup and choose the extension it comes to the screen.
Alternatively, right click on the video file while pressing the shift key. this will give you the %26quot;open with%26quot; option. Now select your favourite player and select the checkbox that says something like use this program to open this file and thats it. But you'll have to do this for each file type.

when you installed media player it asked what file files you wanted associated with it and you probably did'nt check them so you ended up with the default
easy fix right click one of the files you want to open with winamp and choose open with in the box that opens you will be able to choose winamp then look at the bottom for a checkmark that says always use this program to open this type of file with and check it then applyHow can i replace windows media player as my default player?
Change file type associations within WinAmp. That should solve the issue. If you re-open WMP, you will have to do this again, as both players will compete for the files.
