Go to a type of file that you would like to play.. say u wish to listen to mp3's.. so go to ANY mp3 file.. now right click on it.. and select.. Open with.. now select choose program.. now select quick time from the list.. Check the box that says %26quot;Always use this program to open this type of file%26quot;.. so from next time around whenever u click any mp3 file.. it'll open quick time to play this file.. same can be done with any other type of file.. hope this solves ur query.How do I change my default setting for the media player I want to use?

1) right click on the media that you wanted to play. choose open with and then choose program. choose your quicktime program and check on the box where it says 'always use the selected program to open this kind of file'
or
2) i don't know where it should be but if i'm not mistaken, it should be at tools, check all the media formats that you want quicktime to use
