Do you have a video file on local drive? If you do, then try opening it by right click--%26gt;open with (and not %26quot;open%26quot;). In the resulting window, choose your favourite program that you wish to use. Remember to check %26quot;always open this type of file....%26quot; before you click OK. From now on your file will always open with the program you have chosen (media player).
