i ran into the same problem once i installed winamp over WMP 10 so just did a reinstall will wrk ,
the other way is press the SHIFT key and right click on the file u wanna open u'll see a open with button , once there select wmp 10 and check the box which says use this for all same file typesChanging media player BACK to my default player?
Dig in media player options. There you can check, or uncheck file associations in there. May take a minute, media players options are a bit cluttered.

Select the File you want to Play.
Click the Right Mouse button.
Sellect Open With
Choose the Program.
Tick the Always use the Program to Open Files .
