If I download a file off of the internet it automatically opens in my trial version of WinDVD, which has expired. How do I change it so all files are auto-played on windows media player? I don't want to save them on my PC and manually change them, I just want them to defaultly open in WMP. It used to do this before I installed the trial of WinDVD

Go to WinDVD, Fish around for the options and keep fishing until you find what files to open with WinDVD,Changing the default media player for downloaded internet files?
Right click on the file. Scroll down to %26quot;open with...%26quot;. Click on the %26quot;always use this program to open these types of files%26quot; box. Hit enter or ok. Then after the file type opens close it and try again. Should work and your icon for that file type should have changed to WMP. Uninstalling WinDVD probably work and should be done anyways since it is expired.Changing the default media player for downloaded internet files?
Two ways to do this:
1) If you are using Windows XP, go to %26quot;My Computer%26quot;. Click on Tools %26gt; File Types. Choose the extension then click on the button that says %26quot;change%26quot;. Choose Windows Media Player
2) Open Windows Media Player. Go to Tools %26gt; Options %26gt; File Types. Choose the type of extensions that you want to open by default in Windows Media PlayerChanging the default media player for downloaded internet files?
right click on the file you want to change
click on open with
click on choose program
in the open with dialogue box scroll down until you find the program you want the file to open with and click on it
click the box marked %26quot;Always use the selected program to open this kind of file%26quot;
and click OK
the file will then always open with the program you selected you'll also notice the programs icon will have changedChanging the default media player for downloaded internet files?
right click on a file, open with, brouse files.
Choose which program this will make them open with thats sooftware.
Another way is go onto the software you intend to use and in the setting there will be a tick box making it the default player for internet media or that type of thing.
Or Uninstall Windvd and it will promt you next time you open a file and choose which software to use.
You might aswell uninstall the software if its expired as its taking up room and not working. Get rid of it there are many free ones out there!!!!
