right click on any audio file and then open with .. (the media player u wanna have as default) and make sure to check mark always it shud be left bottom of the window (the one u open after clicking open with..)

I'm using Windows Media Player 11 but it this should work for other versions as well.
1. Open Windows Media Player (obvious right? :P)
2. Click on 'Tools'.
If Tools isn't visible then you might need to right-click somewhere up the top to get the menus to pop up.
3. Click on 'Options'
4. Click on 'File Types'
A list of all the file types that Windows Media Player can play should show up now. The ones that are set as default to play with this media player should be ticked.
5. You can manually select the file types you want to open with Windows Media Player. Also, there should be a button that says 'Select All' or something else you can click on which will select all the file types.
6. And your done!
This should fix the problem.
If files still open up in real player then you should try these steps with real player.
For Real Player: (I use Real Player 11, but the steps should be similar with other versions.)
1. After opening up Real Player, Click 'Tools'
2. Click 'Preferences'
3. Click 'Content', then 'Media Types' in the category bar on the left had side.
Two options should be available on the right now. One is to make Real Player your Universal Media Player (which your daughter may have selected) and the other is 'Manually configure media types for Real Player' or something along those lines.
5. Click on the Manually Configure option. Then click the 'Select' button.
6. A list of associated media file types should come up now. To deselect all the file types simply click the 'Deselect All' button, or you can manually deselect only a few individual file types if you wish.
7. Click the 'ok' buttons till you back at the Real Player itself and exit.
8. And your done!
