You need to change the file extension association in Windows from Nero to windows media player. To do this:

Right click on any of your video files and choose %26quot;Open with%26quot;. Then choose the program that you want to open these files. If %26quot;Windows Media Player%26quot; isn't listed, just browes for it. Simply navigate to the programs folder in %26quot;Program files%26quot;, open the folder and click on the .exe file. That will associate that file extension with the program that you choose, making that program the %26quot;default%26quot; program for these file types. RIGHT click on a video file, and select Open With %26gt;
Then click on the last option of the submenu, Select Default Program...
You have to do the same for every video file type you use (avi, wmv,mpg)

open media player then go to Tools%26gt;Options

1. Right click on the video
2. Click on %26quot;open with%26quot;
3. click on %26quot;choose program%26quot;
4. Now select %26quot;windows media player%26quot; in the window
5. There is a checkbox at the bottom which reads as %26quot;Always use the selected program to open this kind of file%26quot; .
6. Select this checkbox
7. Click %26quot;OK%26quot;
From now on the video file will always be opened with windows media player
