How do I change a program to be my default player for all my movies and media. For example, I use windows media player but I want to change it and use the new software I got with my Zune, I've looked in my options but can't seem to find the right option.

There are 2 methods (beside using the option from the player if they have any) to be used:
1. Right click on a type of media file: avi, mpeg/mpg, wmv etc and at the window that will open, go to Open With and from there select Choose Program. Once selected, another window will be opened, and there you will find a list of the programs installed on your pc. Select the program you want to use as a default media player for that type of file, and check the radio button that says: Always use the selected program to open this kind of file
and hit OK. This will associate that type of file always with that media player you choose. If by any chance you will not find the program you want to use on the list, hit the Browse button and find it manually and than use the last step i mentioned above.
2. Open windows explorer, goto Tools -%26gt; Folder Options -%26gt; File Types and scroll down till you find the media file extension you want to change (avi, mpeg/mpg, wmv etc), select that type of file, and if you hit Change button you will come to the first step i mentioned above. If you hit Advanced, you will be shown another window, from there there is a text box that says Actions: and listed there there might be several methods, just select Play or Play in (name of the default media player) and hit Edit button on your right side. After that, another window will pop up, hit the Browse button and find the program you want to use for playing that kind of media file (by default it is installed in c:\program files) , select the .exe file and press Open, press OK, OK, OK and you are done.Default media player?
Most programs have a function in options that will allow you to choose what files it will be default for...
But if you can't find that, there's the painstaking method of right-clicking each file you want to open in My Computer, choosing Open with, choosing the Player, and checking that you want the program to be the default. Note that you would have to do that for each file type.Default media player?
